The Dr. Carl A. Dent Medical Center, commonly known as the Pagoda of Medicine, was designed in 1961 by Benjamin F. McAdoo Jr. (1921-1981) as Carl A. Dent’s (1914-1995) medical offices, within the Seventh Day Adventist Church’s Riverside Sanitarium & Hospital campus. 

On October 20,  2024, it will become the new  fully restored  headquarters  of The Charles & Etta Dudley Foundation. Charles Dudley Sr. (1927-2010) was the president of the South Central Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists, from 1962 to 1993 – a record 31 years. As president, Dudley oversaw the continued development of the entire Riverside Hospital and Sanitarium complex and was a strong supporter of Black Adventism through-out the region.
